Welcome to the Florence Styles 'People' Index

     An Index to 5,746 names of persons making up part of the History of Butte County California AND surrounding areas.
     Florence Styles was a local historian and genealogist with a fascination for the people and events of Northern California and Butte County in particular. She has left a legacy of information she had collected over several decades and upon her death, in 1997, she left to the Paradise Genealogical Society. A room housing her materials dedicated to her at the Society Library in Paradise. Ten binders of assorted materials of hers have been collected and placed in this 'People' index. Most of the materials are newspaper articles, some are photographs, and some are genealogical notes she had developed. These have been indexed and noted below. Should there be an error discovered within the index, please bring it to our attention so that we may correct it.
     To determine the content of the pages one must:
         (a)Come to the Society Library for self research,
         (b)Call the Society Library for a librarian for a look-up a description of the material,
               general subject matter, and/or
         (c)Contact the Paradise Genealogical Society researcher via the Research
               Application form. This is the recommended procedure as it can provide a broader
               research scheme and often yields higher returns.
