The Paradise Genealogical Society has a large collection of obituaries and death notices from local Butte County newspapers, The majority of our records are full obituaries but also include short obituaries and death notices. The collection includes approximately 85,800 records covering the years 1855-2008. This is not a full collection. Obituaries have been collected since the society was established in 1968. We are constantly working on updating our records as we acquire new sources.

Society volunteers are indexing our card files. The letters A through K have been indexed and can be searched online (See indexes below). Our volunteers will do free look-ups of surnames beginning with any letter of the alphabet (A-Z). Copies of records are $5.00 donation each.
